Sana'a – Saba:
The General Authority for Antiquities and Museums condemned the American aggression that targeted the historic Jabal Nama Fortress, located in Al-Thawabi area, Jiblah District, in the Ibb Governorate.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Authority described the attack on the archaeological site as a blatant assault on Yemen’s deep-rooted historical and cultural heritage.
The statement confirmed that the strike caused severe damage to the fortress, which dates back to the Himyarite Kingdom, as evidenced by the archaeological remains atop the mountain. Among them is an ancient mosque built with stones from the site, whose roof rested on marble columns that had stood firm until they were struck.
The Authority called on all international organizations concerned with the protection of human heritage to act immediately to halt the aggression, fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities, and condemn this blatant attack on humanity’s shared heritage. The assault, the statement noted, constitutes a flagrant violation of all international norms, treaties, and conventions.
