Protests against the war in the Gaza Strip are expanding day after day within the reserve formations of the Israeli army, in light of the war's failure to secure the release of prisoners and the continuing losses.
Protesters are demanding the return of the prisoners, even if the price is a complete cessation of the war.
The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Monday that the dismissal of nearly 1,000 reserve employees and pilots from the Israeli Air Force a few days ago, in light of the letter of protest they intended to submit to the political echelon, continues to cast a shadow over the situation, as other reserve formations have joined the protest wave.
The newspaper reported that 20 other reserve formations from various military branches have joined the protest wave in recent days, with the number of protesting reserve formations and retirees reaching the thousands.
In addition, approximately 1,600 officers and veteran soldiers from the infantry and paratrooper brigades signed a petition demanding the return of the prisoners and an end to the war.
Also, 250 former senior Mossad officers signed a protest petition demanding an end to the war and the return of the prisoners. Among the signatories were three former Mossad commanders: Danny Yatom, Ephraim Halevy, and Tamir Pardo.
