Washington - Saba:
The United States announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $425 million, with plans to transfer hundreds of pieces of equipment in the coming months, according to a statement from the White House.
The announcement, made on Wednesday, includes provisions for enhanced air defense capabilities, air-to-ground munitions, armored vehicles, and critical ammunition.
The White House detailed that the aid will also encompass hundreds of air defense interceptor missiles, tactical air defense systems, additional artillery systems, and a significant supply of ammunition.
In addition to the immediate support, the U.S. will provide hundreds of armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles, along with thousands of other armored vehicles.
Russia has criticized the arms shipments, asserting they undermine peace efforts and directly implicate NATO countries in the conflict.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that any delivery of weapons to Ukraine would be deemed a legitimate target for Russia, emphasizing that the U.S. and NATO are directly engaged in the conflict through not only arms supplies but also personnel training in various European nations.
