Rome - Saba:
Juventus, the title holder, beat Cagliari by a large margin 4-0 in the round of 16 of the Italian Cup last night, and set a date with Empoli in the quarter-finals.
The team of coach Thiago Motta succeeded in returning to the winning track again, after drawing in its last four matches in the league, as it has not tasted victory for more than a month, specifically since the derby match against Torino (2-0) on November 9.
The "Old Lady" team owes its qualification to the Serbian Dusan Vlahovic, the Dutchman Ton Koopmeiners, the Portuguese Francisco Conceicao and the Argentine Nico Gonzalez, who scored the four goals in the 44th, 53rd, 80th and 89th minutes, respectively.
The record holder in the number of titles in the competition (15) will face Empoli in the quarter-finals, who overcame Fiorentina (4-3 on penalties) after a 2-2 draw last Tuesday.
The same round will be completed with the matches between Atalanta and Cesena, and Roma and Sampdoria today, Wednesday, and will conclude with the match between Inter and Udinese on Thursday.
Lazio booked their place in the quarter-finals by defeating Napoli 3-1, joining Milan, who defeated Sassuolo 6-1, and Bologna, who defeated Monza 4-0.
