Paris - Saba:
French authorities announced on Saturday evening that at least 50 people were injured in a collision between two tram trains in the eastern city of Strasbourg.
A spokesman for the governorate stated that the circumstances of the accident were not yet clear.
French media reported that many firefighters and ambulances were mobilized to facilitate access to emergency services.
For its part, the Strasbourg Public Prosecutor's Office told the "TF1/LCI" channel that up to this stage there is no evidence indicating a deliberate act or an explosion.
Local media indicated that the authorities have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident.
The images circulating on social media networks show the force of the shock with many exhausted and injured passengers.
