Hague Group formed to support Palestine State

Hague - Saba:

Nine countries have announced the formation of the "Hague Group" to support the State of Palestine, to discuss their commitment to international law, respond to threats against the International Criminal Court, and defend Palestinian rights.

According to the Palestinian News Agency "Wafa", those countries are Malaysia, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Honduras, Namibia, Senegal, and South Africa.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the establishment of the Hague Group and its historic declaration, which was adopted after close consultations with Palestine.

It said that this declaration represents an important development in the collective action of states and world leaders to protect and promote international law and international institutions at a time when they face serious threats.

It added that accountability is the cornerstone of justice, and the Hague Group has committed to achieving both in Palestine in order to protect and preserve the foundations of the international system based on law. This principled and courageous commitment stems from the members’ deep commitment to the core values embodied in international law, which reject exceptionalism and impunity as features of global chaos and instability.

This declaration comes at a time when some international actors are threatening to undermine the entire international system in order to preserve the exceptionalism, criminality and impunity enjoyed by the Zionist entity. This dangerous campaign poses a threat to global stability, cannot be ignored, and must not be allowed to prevail.

The ministry said Palestine will continue to defend these principles that reflect the core values of the Palestinian people, and that accountability for all crimes and holding all criminals accountable is the only hope for humanity to preserve itself, and Palestine will work with all partners to achieve this goal, and calls on all countries that share this commitment to join this important global coalition for justice.
