Ramallah - Saba:
The Palestinian Central Council late on Saturday confirmed the unity of the Palestinian national - official, popular and factional - position at steadfastness and rejection of the new-old conspiracy aimed at liquidating the cause of the Palestinian people, their rights and their land, by displacing them from their homeland.
This came at the conclusion of the meeting held by the Council, in the city of Al-Bireh, to discuss the new dangers facing Palestinian rights and land as a result of what US President Donald Trump stated about the displacement of the Palestinian people in Gaza, and the occupation's transfer of the killing, destruction and displacement machine to the West Bank governorates.
The CC affirmed its rejection of the displacement plan and the insistence of the Palestinian people and their leadership on rejecting what Trump stated, considering it a serious violation of international law and a violation of the Palestinian people's fixed right to self-determination in their homeland. It also expressed its rejection of the proposals of some American legislators and their attempt to change the name of the West Bank or legalize settlements.
It expressed its rejection of the American role that denies international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions, and called for a unified Arab position addressing the US administration to back down from its rejected positions.
It also condemned the annexation and apartheid schemes practiced by the Zionist occupation in the West Bank, with American support, and stressed the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land in the face of occupation, displacement and settlement.
The Palestinian Central Council expressed its rejection of any transitional or temporary solutions that represent an infringement or concession of the borders of June 4, 1967, including occupied East Quds, explaining that the sacrifices of the Palestinian people over the past decades deserve the world's recognition of the State of Palestine and its acceptance as a member of the United Nations General Assembly.
It also reiterated that Palestinian national unity is the law of victory and the mandatory passage to confront the occupation schemes and achieve national independence, which must be within the framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people and based on its political program unanimously approved in successive sessions of the Palestinian National Council.
The CC also stressed support for the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court as the highest international legal platforms to achieve justice against murderers and criminals, expressing his rejection of President Trump's imposition of sanctions against the "International Criminal Court".
"The right of the Palestinian people to resist the plans of the Zionist occupation is not an option but a duty, as long as the occupation is on Palestinian land, with a focus on activating and supporting popular resistance in exercise of the Palestinian people's right to self-defense based on international law," it added.
The Central Council called on the international community to reject the US President's statements about displacement, and to continue to pursue Netanyahu and his government's pillars as war criminals, calling on the United Nations General Assembly to confront Trump's statements, and to support the movement to boycott the Zionist entity and divest from it.
It is noteworthy that the Central Council meeting came at the invitation of the President of the Palestinian National Council, Rawhi Fattouh, and was attended by a number of national leaders and members of the Council, in addition to wide participation via "Zoom" technology from representatives of the southern governorates and members of the Palestinian communities abroad.
