New York - Saba:
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has confirmed that the Israeli occupation army has directly targeted more than 400 schools in the Gaza Strip since the start of its genocidal war on October 7, 2023.
The agency stated in a post on X platform on Monday that more than 70 percent of UNRWA schools, where displaced Palestinians had sought refuge to escape the bombing, were directly targeted by the occupation army.
The agency confirmed that most schools in the Strip were damaged by Israeli bombing.
It noted that 88 percent of schools in Gaza need repair or complete rehabilitation.
It explained that 162 of the schools damaged by Israeli attacks are affiliated with UNRWA, noting that children in Gaza have been displaced, exposed to killing and injury, and deprived of education for a year and a half due to Israeli attacks.
With American support, the enemy has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 167,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
