Hodeida - Saba:
A refresher workshop for preachers and cultural advocates from the city districts of Hodeida governorate was held on Wednesday, organized by the Governorate’s Guidance Sector.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the role of preachers in community awareness, evaluate the performance of religious guidance, and keep pace with current cultural and religious developments amid the nation’s ongoing challenges.
During the workshop, Hodeida undersecretary Ahmed al-Bishri emphasized the importance of such refresher workshops in revitalizing the performance of religious guidance and reviewing awareness messaging. He praised the efforts of the Guidance Sector in implementing initiatives that aim to safeguard society intellectually and reinforce the faith-based identity.
He stressed that the current stage requires active participation, particularly from preachers and cultural advocates, in the arenas of education and awareness to counter harmful intellectual and cultural campaigns promoted by adversaries.
For his part, Head of the Guidance Sector in the governorate Abdulrahman al-Warfi explained that the workshop is part of the sector’s plan to develop the capabilities of preachers and update their rhetorical tools. He encouraged greater efforts in serving the religion of Allah and in spreading awareness and insight throughout society.
He affirmed that the current phase calls for a strong and impactful awareness discourse rooted in religious values and capable of addressing real-life issues. He also called for greater attention to be paid to preparing meaningful sermons that address educational and economic topics affecting people’s daily lives.
Meanwhile, cultural activist Ahmed Hajer presented several awareness-related themes addressing the state of the Ummah and the intellectual and cultural challenges it faces. He called for the development of a renewed, responsible, and insightful discourse that is attuned to the concerns and aspirations of the community.
