The Polish national team, led by world number two Iga Swiatek, advanced to the semifinals of the United Tennis Cup with a 3-0 victory over Britain on Thursday in Sydney.
According to AFP, Hubert Hurkacz gave Poland the lead by winning the men's singles match against Billy Harris (7-6), (7-5), in an hour and 45 minutes.
Eija Szwiontek confirmed Poland's victory by taking the women's singles match against Katie Poulter in two sets to one, (6-7), (6-1), (6-4), in two hours and 57 minutes.
Poland dominated the mixed doubles match with Maja Chwalinska and Jan Zielinski defeating Olivia Nichols and Charlies Broom, 6-2, 7-6, in one hour and 23 minutes.
Poland will face Kazakhstan in the semifinals on Saturday, looking to repeat last year's feat when they reached the final before losing to Germany.
