Sydney - Saba:
Poland on Saturday qualified for the final match of the United Cup mixed teams tennis tournament for the second time in a row, with a convincing 2-0 victory over Kazakhstan, thanks to the wins of Hubert Hurkacz and Iga Swiatek in their singles matches.
Poland, runners-up last year, will face either the United States, the inaugural United Cup champions, or the Czech Republic in Sunday's final.
The Americans face the Czech Republic in the second semi-final in Sydney.
World number two Swiatek finished the match with a fighting performance against hard-hitting Kazakhstan player Elena Rybakina to win 7-6(5) 6-4 at Ken Rosewall Arena.
Earlier, Hubert Hurkacz beat Oleksandr Shevchenko 6-3 6-2 in less than an hour to help his team into the final.
Poland lost to Germany in last year's final. The 18-team United Cup is a warm-up event for the Australian Open, which runs from January 12 to 26.
