Sana'a - Saba:

The General Basketball Federation has announced the launch of the Men's Second Division League on April 24, 2025. The competition will be held in two stages, with the first stage scheduled to run from April 24 to May 1, 2025, followed by the final gathering in the capital, Sana'a, starting on May 15.

Thirteen clubs from across the country will compete in the league, including 22 May, Hilal Hodeida, Shaab Ibb, Teli'at Taiz, Mukalla, Shebam Hadramout, Wahdat Tarim, al-Tadamon Hadramout, Shabab al-Jeel, al-Ahmadi Rada'a, Shabab al-Mahweet, Tali'a Lahj, and al-Shula'a.

A meeting was held today, chaired by the Chairman of the Federation’s Board of Directors, Abdul Sattar Al-Hamdani, with the participation of Federation Secretary-General Jamal Ibrahim and Competitions Committee Chairman Hamoud Taher. The meeting focused on organizing the league and ensuring the success of the competitions.

The competition will take place in two stages. The first stage will follow a home-and-away format from April 26 to May 1, with six teams advancing to the second stage in Sana'a, starting on May 15.

In the second stage, the six qualifying teams will be divided into two groups of three, where they will compete in a round-robin format. The top team from each group will qualify directly for the First Division, and a final match between the group champions will determine the overall winner and runner-up of the Second Division League.

The General Basketball Federation has issued a circular to participating clubs, requiring teams to adhere to the official uniform guidelines, including approved colors, numbering, and the International Basketball Federation logo.

Clubs are also instructed to submit player lists, along with technical and administrative staff details, by April 1, 2025. Any club failing to complete registration by the deadline will be excluded from the competition.
