New York - Saba:
Human Rights Watch said that the Israeli occupation campaign in the West Bank is the longest and most intense since the Second Intifada, warning against transferring violations in Gaza to the West Bank.
The organization called on countries to act to prevent further atrocities and impose sanctions on those responsible.
For his part, the Commissioner-General of UNRWA, Philippe Lazzarini, indicated that the West Bank has become a "battlefield" after the martyrdom of more than 50 Palestinians since the beginning of this year, as a result of a large-scale operation launched by the occupation army.
He explained that the increasing destruction of infrastructure and the bulldozing of roads have become commonplace, which has forced more than 40,000 people to flee their homes.
Lazzarini added that more than 5,000 children have been deprived of education, while residents suffer from a severe shortage of basic services and humanitarian aid.
